Launched into Eternity – TM Thorne

I was given a free e-book copy of Launched into eternity by TM Thorne in return for my honest review.

I must admit I don’t usually read non-fiction and I didn’t know it was non-fiction before I started reading. However, I must firstly say that the amount of research and transcribing that went in to produce this book must have been enormous, and the great amount of effort shows.

I found the book very interesting especially as it was a subject of which I didn’t really have much previous knowledge. It surprised me to find some of the crimes people were executed for which today would only come with a much more lenient sentence than death. It also made me think about how if this form of punishment were around today whether people would still react in the same way and congregate to view the executions.

I would have liked to see a bit of personal input and opinions regarding the subject of the book, in the way of a summary at the end or something similar, but that is just my personal opinion.

Overall an interesting read, which gives an account of punishment in previous time of life.
