Where We Belong – Anstey Harris

I received ‘Where We Belong’ as part of my fiction subscription bundle from @Bertsbooks. The cover is beautiful, so I could tell it was going to be a lovely read.

This book follows Cate and her son Leo as they move from London to live above the Hatters Museum of the Wide Wide World, in Crouch-on-Sea.

Cate doesn’t have a great start as she tries to settle into their new life. Araminta the current retainer of the Museum’s collection seems to take a disliking to her straight away.

As Cate explores more about the history of the Museum and the connection with her late Husband, she comes to warm to the place and is inspired to bring it back to its former glory.

This story is very emotional and heart-warming, as Cate learns the secrets of the Museum and works through the grief she is holding onto.

It was a gentle flowing book to read, and it was very uplifting. I related to Cate in some ways, and I think this made the story even more emotional for me personally.

Overall, a beautiful, emotional story which shows how community spirit can make a big difference.
