We Begin at the End – Chris Whitaker

I finished reading ‘We Begin at the End’ by Chris Whitaker in April, and I was absolutely blown away. I have been nervous to write this review, as I’m not sure I can give it the acclamation it deserves.

This book is set in Cape Haven, California and follows Sheriff Walk, Star, her children Duchess and Robin, and the recently released killer Vincent King.

Walk looks over Star and her family and has such a caring, protective relationship with them, especially Duchess.

Duchess unfortunately is used to being the main part time carer for her Mum and her little Brother and she will do anything to protect them.

The story suddenly explodes with a chain of events which will change their lives forever and shows how strong Duchess is even at her young age.

‘We Begin at the End’ is amazing!!! Not only a great storyline but very emotional too. The characters are so strong and keep you wanting to read more & more. It is certainly a book that will stay with me for a while. This is currently my best book of the year so far, and it seems that I’m not the only one as it is winning awards too.

Overall, an emotional, rollercoaster crime thriller which will break your heart.

      1. I only started listening to audiobooks in the last few years now that I am alone. I prefer to do that while doing tasks like dishes, baking, laundry, weeding etc. I never could have listened to them when my family was still young.
