I received a gifted ARC copy of ‘We Watch You’ by N S Ford from the author herself. Thank you for my copy and the opportunity to read and review. This is due to be released 01.10.21.
The book follows Lauren, an autistic woman and her friends Jess and Claire. For many years this group of friends have kept a dark secret.
Lauren and her friends discover that someone they used to be close to is missing, they are concerned for her welfare, but also their own.
Soon the group of friends start to experience horrific and shocking events, and Lauren is convinced that someone is watching them.
Is someone out for revenge? If they are who is it?
This book is narrated mainly by Lauren as she tries to deal with and investigate the terrible events which are occurring. Not only does she have to battle through some of the barriers she has with her autism, but she must unravel the mystery behind who is after her and her friends.
I liked that although the book is mostly narrated by Lauren, there are chapters which break up the story, including reports, letters, and blog posts. This allowed other characters stories to come through and add to the understanding to the storyline. I must admit when I was first reading the blog posts, I went to find the like button to click it.
I enjoyed reading this book, as I wanted to find out what secrets the friends were hiding and there was certainly a few to discover.
I won’t spoil the ending, but I will say it left me with an eerie feeling.
Overall, a dark thriller full of secrets to be revealed and will leave you with an eerie feeling of being watched.
