Playing Mum – Elizabeth Coffey

I bought an E-Book copy of ‘Playing Mum’ by Elizabeth Coffey when it was on a free promotion.

I have read three books by this author now, and I have loved each and every one. Each one I have read has been so different from the last

This book is about Pam and her two sons, as they move into a new house hoping to have a fresh start.

Pam has moved back to the area that she grew up in hoping that she will find her long lost sister.

What follows is a shocking series of events which will affect the family forever.

I loved reading this book, it does have a dark edge to it, but it in some ways it is a sweet story too.

I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened to the family, and where the story would go.

There is a line that death is only the beginning, which does make you think about death in a different way. It is also uplifting, to hear this as part of the story too.

I don’t want to say too much in this review as I don’t want to give away any of the shocks. All I will say is this is a really good read, and you must read to find out what I am talking about.

Overall, a shocking but uplifting novella with a dark edge.

My Rating:

💜💜💜💜.5 /5
